First Post, First Hopes

It's a new blog, it's a new day, it's a new life for me. And I'm feeling intimidated!

I'm a college sophomore, studying theatre at Arizona State. This last semester made me realize that I'm not where I want to be in my academics, relationships, or inner life. So it's time to make a change! Obviously, it's not a change that will happen over the next couple of weeks, but I figure Winter Break is the perfect time to start.

I kick-started my break with a great "family" reunion with friends from high school. Every year we go to the Phoenix Zoo for ZooLights and head back to my parents' house for cookie decorating and hot chocolate sipping around a fire. Even though the experience felt a lot different than our previous reunions (group dynamics don't stay the same forever, nor should they), I realized how lucky I am to have a core group of people that will love and inspire me every single day--regardless of whether they are in the same school, city, state, or country.

So as I embark on this personal renaissance of sorts, I know I am loved and supported.
